Happy Mother’s Day, finally…
May 13th, 2012Wow! It has been a while since our last blog. We are finding out just how time consuming one extra person can be, but he is so much fun. We have been so busy trying to keep up with Mason. He is growing up so fast. In the last couple of months he has started eating solid foods, started a new daycare, started crawling and cut two teeth. He’s been a very busy boy and Mommy and I have been doing what we can to help him out. Yesterday, we went with Molly’s parents, Mike and the kids to meet SM, her mom and BG at Chutes and Ladders. It was the first time they had all met. It went really well. It was nice that everyone could put faces with names. We all had fun going up and down on the play set. Everyone seemed to get along well. It was fun for them to see how much Mason is growing and mobile he is getting to be. We are so happy to be celebrating our first Mother’s Day. Mason is such a happy blessing added to our lives almost nine months ago. It’s hard to believe that he is going to 1 year old in just 3 months. Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there.
Describing Mason
March 4th, 2012Mason tries solid food
February 26th, 2012Our little baby, well he’s not so little anymore, tried solid food for the first time this weekend. He has been giving us sad looks for the past month or so whenever we eat. So we thought he would love to finally get to eat like the big people. That wasn’t so much the case. He cringed and shuttered from head to toe. We think a lot of his reaction is because he had to get his first round of flu shots on Friday and he was still feeling the affects. We will keep trying and hopefully, he will catch on to eating real food. I had been trying to get Molly’s dad to try pickled beets, but he wasn’t in to it. However, after watching Mason try his first food, he said that he would try the beets if I tried some of Mason’s rice cereal. It was not a pretty sight. At least Wayne liked the beets. I can’t say the same for Mason’s cereal.
The Chronicles of Mason: Entry 6
February 21st, 2012Baptizing Mason
February 21st, 2012We had Mason baptized a week ago. My family from Wisconsin came out for the festivities. Some of them had not seen Mason since he was 1 month old. Wow! How he has changed. We were also joined by Molly’s family and our wonderful friends Melissa and Tom. Mason was a true champion during the baptism and our celebration at home. We are lucky to have such a wonderful baby and such loving and caring friends and family. Mason is very lucky to have 4 godparents: Molly’s brother Mike, along with Andrew, Adam and Aubrey Ley. We were so excited that they were all willing to be godparents. The more love the merrier for our sweet happy little boy. Although, he is not so little anymore. He is growing like a weed. He goes in for his 6 month checkup this Friday. Yayy!!
The Chronicles of Mason: Entry 5
January 18th, 2012Today, I turned 5 months old. My mom and dad are so excited, but I don’t get the big deal. I am no where near as old as they are, and you don’t see me getting all excited about that. I mean 5 months to them is like 5 years to me. You know what is funny, though. I have gained 12 pounds in 5 months and so has my dad. I hope he doesn’t read this. I have been having a lot of fun the past 5 months. I have met a lot of people. My new year’s resolution for this year was to start daycare; so that I could branch out from my mom and dad. So the first week of the month I started going to hang with a nice lady at her daycare. I go there 3 days a week (Tuesday – Thursday). On Monday’s, I get to hang out with my grandma and grandpa. I get to have a lot of fun no matter where. One of my favorite things to do is to practice my flying. I’m getting real good too. Sometimes, I get to flying so fast and high that I fly right out of my clothes. It is so freeing with the breeze flowing through my hair and across my body. I think when I grow I am going to be a superhero…
A Belated Happy Holidays
January 16th, 2012I apologize for the lapse in our blog the last couple of months. We were having some technical difficulty, but hopefully we have it all worked out now. We hope that everyone had a very happy holiday season. I know we did. Personally, we prefer to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, but we can’t do that this year because we missed those two holidays; so we are lumping it into one great big holiday greeting.
We have been having so much fun with Mason. He is growing so fast! Obviously, our Christmas and New Year celebrations took on a new light this year. We have been waiting for this for so long. We can hardly believe that Mason is finally here. Even though the wait was unbearable, he was so worth it. He will always know how much he is loved and cherished.
Mason Michael was truly the best Christmas present anyone could ever receive. Merry Christmas!! Happy New Year and best wishes for 2012…
Happy Thanksgiving
November 27th, 2011
We hosted our first annual Breeden Family Thanksgiving! Wayne, Trish and Mike came over around noon. We spent a relaxing afternoon watching football, eating snacks and looking at the ads for Black Friday. Dinner was served around 5:00. Wyatt and Lily joined us shortly after dinner for dessert, fun and games. They educated us on the fundamentals of Operation, buying homes in Monopoly and I introduced them to Twister. Twister was hilarious! It was wonderful to share Mason’s first Thanksgiving with family. He was the highlight of the day. On Friday, we had everyone back for lunch (according to the kids it was” the best pizza ever”!) then we all piled in our cars and went to Costco. We love Costco. Yesterday we put up our Christmas tree and a few other decorations. It is so much fun to have Mason in our lives and we finally feel like a family. His eyes lit up when he saw the tree! We actually got to put up three stockings this year. Yaayy!! We hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and that the rest of your holiday season is filled with love and joy.
Holiday Wishes and Thanks
November 17th, 2011Here we are in the midst of the holiday season. Thanksgiving is just a week away. Molly and I have so many things to be thankful for this year. We are especially thankful for our son, Mason Michael. He is the best gift we’ve ever received! We are thrilled to have him and cannot imagine our lives without him. We have waited and waited (seems like forever) for the moment we could hold our baby in our arms. Just 3 months ago, we were blessed with the wonderful gift of life. We shall cherish him forever. Of course we wouldn’t have the opportunity to be parents to a handsome baby boy without the sacrifice of two very special people. There are no words to express our thanks, but that is all we have. Thank you SM and BG. We will be forever grateful and appreciative. We hope you are doing well and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We hope you have a happy holiday season…
