The Chronicles of Mason: Entry 5

January 18th, 2012

Today, I turned 5 months old.  My mom and dad are so excited, but I don’t get the big deal.  I am no where near as old as they are, and you don’t see me getting all excited about that.  I mean 5 months to them is like 5 years to me.  You know what is funny, though.  I have gained 12 pounds in 5 months and so has my dad.  I hope he doesn’t read this.  I have been having a lot of fun the past 5 months.  I have met a lot of people.  My new year’s resolution for this year was to start daycare; so that I could branch out from my mom and dad.  So the first week of the month I started going to hang with a nice lady at her daycare.  I go there 3 days a week (Tuesday – Thursday).  On Monday’s, I get to hang out with my grandma and grandpa.  I get to have a lot of fun no matter where.  One of my favorite things to do is to practice my flying.  I’m getting real good too.  Sometimes, I get to flying so fast and high that I fly right out of my clothes.  It is so freeing with the breeze flowing through my hair and across my body.  I think when I grow I am going to be a superhero…        102_2293.JPG 102_2294.JPG It's a plane.JPG It's SuperMason.JPG Faster than speeding bullet.JPG Stronger than a locomotive.JPG Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.JPG Oh yeah, I can fly.JPG Catch me if you can.JPG

A Belated Happy Holidays

January 16th, 2012

I apologize for the lapse in our blog the last couple of months.  We were having some technical difficulty, but hopefully we have it all worked out now.  We hope that everyone had a very happy holiday season.  I know we did.  Personally, we prefer to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, but we can’t do that this year because we missed those two holidays; so we are lumping it into one great big holiday greeting.

We have been having so much fun with Mason.  He is growing so fast!  Obviously, our Christmas and New Year celebrations took on a new light this year.  We have been waiting for this for so long.  We can hardly believe that Mason is finally here.  Even though the wait was unbearable,  he was so worth it.  He will always know how much he is loved and cherished.

Mason Michael was truly the best Christmas present anyone could ever receive.  Merry Christmas!!  Happy New Year  and best wishes for 2012…It's about time.JPG Mason's first present.JPG Just what I always wanted.JPG Merry Christmas.JPG The best present ever.JPG Are you looking at my butt.JPG Who needs reindeer to fly.JPG Happy together.JPG We finally got to put up three stockings.JPG

Happy Thanksgiving

We hosted our first annual Breeden Family Thanksgiving!  Wayne, Trish and Mike came over around noon.  We spent a relaxing afternoon watching football, eating snacks and looking at the ads for Black Friday.  Dinner was served around 5:00.  Wyatt and Lily joined us shortly after dinner for dessert, fun and games.  They educated us on the fundamentals of Operation, buying homes in Monopoly and I introduced them to Twister.  Twister was hilarious!   It was wonderful to share Mason’s first Thanksgiving with family.  He was the highlight of the day.  On Friday, we had everyone back for lunch (according to the kids it was” the best pizza ever”!) then we all piled in our cars and went to Costco.  We love Costco.  Yesterday we put up our Christmas tree and a few other decorations.  It is so much fun to have Mason in our lives and we finally feel like a family.   His eyes lit up when he saw the tree!  We actually got to put up three stockings this year.  Yaayy!!  We hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and that the rest of your holiday season is filled with love and joy.

Holiday Wishes and Thanks

November 17th, 2011

Here we are in the midst of the holiday season.  Thanksgiving is just a week away.  Molly and I have so many things to be thankful for this year.  We are especially thankful for our son, Mason Michael.  He is the best gift we’ve ever received!  We are thrilled to have him and cannot imagine our lives without him.   We have waited and waited (seems like forever) for the moment we could hold our baby in our arms.  Just 3 months ago, we were blessed with the wonderful gift of life.  We shall cherish him forever.  Of course we wouldn’t have the opportunity to be parents to a handsome baby boy without the sacrifice of two very special people.  There are no words to express our thanks, but that is all we have.   Thank you SM and BG.  We will be forever grateful and appreciative.  We hope you are doing well and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  We hope you have a happy holiday season…

The Chronicles of Mason: Entry 4

October 31st, 2011

Today was my first Halloween.  I’m not really sure what that means.  All I know is that everybody dresses up in crazy costumes and goes around telling people “trick-or-treat.”  The people are supposed to give them candy in response.  I’m not sure what happens if they don’t.  I will have to look into that further when I am a little older and can actually go out.  This looks like it would be a lot of fun.  Maybe Mom and Dad will let me go out and try this out next year.  I mean who wouldn’t want to dress up and go out begging for candy?

Halloween Madness

October 31st, 2011

This year we finally get to celebrate our first holiday as a family.  Happy Halloween!!  We had a busy weekend to celebrate “All Hallow’s Eve.”  We got together with Molly’s parents on Saturday to carve pumpkins.  We all piled in to two cars and went to a pumpkin patch to get some photos and then back to Grandma and Grandpa’s to carve pumpkins.  What a slimy mess.  On Sunday, Molly and Mason went to shower to celebrate our little bundle of joy.  We asked people to bring books instead of cards.  We have gotten a lot of cool books so far.  Of course, today is Halloween.  We got home in time to shower and to get ready for the madness.  However, Mason decided he wanted to take a nap during trick-or-treating.  He missed all but one group of trick-or-treaters.  We still had him dressed in his costume in case he woke up, but no chance.  Oh well.  There is always next year.

Boy in Blue Coming Through

October 13th, 2011

Do you ever feel like you get a little camera happy when you have a new baby?  Last night, a neighbor came over for a short visit and brought her camera with her to take a few pics of Mason.  As if that weren’t enough, after she left, we broke out our camera and started snapping away.  We do have one of the cutest babies I have ever seen.  He is the ray of sunshine that we have been waiting for all these years.  He is so much fun!  So here are a few of the pictures we took last night.  Enjoy….

The Chronicles of Mason: Entry 2

October 3rd, 2011

So what’s the big deal with “Bath/Naked Time?”  When I was little, I absolutely hated to be naked or to get wet.  But now that I am older, I don’t get why little babies hate it so much.  It’s awesome!!!  To all those crybabies out there that don’t like to get naked or to take a bath I say, grow up.  Don’t sweat it.  When you get to be my age, you will love it too…

TC 10-Miler

October 2nd, 2011

This morning I got up bright and early, well it wasn’t exactly bright just early, to go run the TC 10-Miler.  It was a gorgeous day for it.  The temperature at the start of the run was in the mid 40′s, perfect temperature for a Sunday morning run.  I ran with a couple of friends that I had met while training for the 2002 TC Marathon.  After we were done with our race, we we watched the lead marathoners come in.  Man!  They are fast!  It is always so cool to go these races and see just how many people of all kinds of shapes and sizes will train and get up early in the morning to run a race.  It is quite the spectacle.  Molly didn’t get to go to the finish this year.  She had to stay home with Mason.  Maybe next time…
